Check Custom Directory Database
When clicking on the Check Custom Directory Database button from the Tools menu in Directory Submitter you will see the following options as in the image below.
Once you have the Directory Database Checker loaded as in the image above you first need to load a database into the Directory Database Checker do this by clicking on the Load button and then selecting the database you want to check.
The Directory Database Checker can check for any Google PR changes to any directory in the database you have selected and you also have the option to check for directories that are no longer loading or that give a 404 page not found error.
Now that you have loaded the database in to the Directory Database Checker and selected the options you want to verify the database for just click on the Start button to begin the process.
Depending on the size of the database and the number of directories in the database the completion time will vary for each user, completion time also depends on the speed of your internet connection, you can stop the process at anytime just by clicking on the Stop button and when the process has been stopped or it has finished by itself you will notice the Review and Save button will become active.
Clicking on the Review and Save button will load a window with the following options as in the image below.
When the Directory Database Checker has finished or it has been stopped by the user you will see all the directories that have been updated.
All directories where the Google PR has changed will be listed in the PR Updates box as in the image above, you have the option to check all directories or you can just select the directories individually that you want to save the changes for to the database.
All directories that were down or that gave a 404 page not found error will be listed in the Disabled Directories box as in the image above, you have the option to check all directories or you can just select the directories individually that you want to save the changes for to the database.
Once you have selected all the directories you want to save the changes for to the database just click the Save button, and now all the changes will now reflect in the submitter.
